When people don’t have knowledge, resources, or a sense of self-belief, they can develop harmful habits and make poor lifestyle choices.
Jump for Health helps to make sure that this doesn’t happen to the young people we work with. By engaging with them at a time when they may be vulnerable and exposed to negative influences, we use sport and workshops to build self-esteem and inform about health, wellbeing and making the right decisions.
Our staff are not just qualified coaches, they’re professional athletes with real sporting achievements under their belts. They are role models. We can get through to the young people in a way that teachers, parents and guardians often cannot. Our basketball sessions target young people and create a route into a community where their fitness, hard work and fulfilment helps to ensure that they make the transition into healthy successful young adults.
We work with people of all ages through basketball sessions and coaching to develop their knowledge around health, and to build their self-esteem and increase their well-being. In turn, this will help them to make the right decisions both at home and out in the community. We foster hope, discipline and respect in both the private and public arenas.
