Today was an eventful day for the St Charles team as we managed to seize a successful win, all thanks to our incredible teamwork and co-operation from our girls. An Outstanding shot from Fardowsa at the very last second right before the buzzer went off, at the second half of the game. This added to our number of exceptional goals from the skilful Grace scoring 8 points ,and Fowzia with 3 points. Overall a total of 36points was achieved. As it was Grace Rendell’s last game as a immensely hard working member of the team, it was a marvellous way to end the game with a triumphant send off . We wish her the best of luck in the future and she will definitely be missed by everyone in the team. Thanks to our coach for believing in us and always striving to help us improve. We came back victorious!!!

Monday was a successful day full of excitement and accomplishment for the girl’s basketball team. We strived our way through and made it to the semi finals thanks to our teamwork and co operation. We won our first game scoring 10-2!unfortunately we lost the second game by one point. Although we didn’t win as many games as we would have liked to, the journey and experience was fulfilling and rewarding in it self. The journey there and back on the coach was thrilling and memorable. The love and support shown by every girl to each other on the team and towards other teams was lovely to see. We thank our coach for continuing to push and encourage us to be better. We are constantly improving because of her hard work, dedication and resilience to make us better

Our final game to round off the term was against the Hackney girls. Although we didn’t win we showed great team spirit out there; encouraging and uplifting each other on the court. We embodied the true meaning of team work and perseverance as we were resilient in the face of adversity. What we hope to improve in the future is our communication skills on court and to strengthen our passes. We’ve come such a long way but there is still a lot more to learn but hopefully with time we can improve at our own pace. Although we didn’t win We ended the term on a high note by enjoying a meal together afterwards to celebrate how far we’ve come. Not so long ago some of us knew nothing about basketball ball but with help from our coach we have improved.
On a different note, sadly we have to say goodbye to one of our star players Fardowsa who never fails to impress on the court. We will all miss her and wish her the best of luck with what ever career or educational path she is going to take; It’s going to be hard without our team captain. We are excited to see what the new year brings.

During the first quarter the energy was low making the team look like they didn’t want to win. Therefore the team scored 6 points. During the second quarter the energy was slightly improved but only scored 4 points. During the third quarter, our teammate was fouled and got to shoot 2 free throws (Yasmin). However, the energy was still slightly low but was improved which only allowed us to score only 2 points. The energy improved in the 4th quarter.
Overall, the other team fouled us many times and we got side inbounds. Our defense was good, our hustle was good, we improved in boxing out and we had good offence need improvement in passing and catching the ball. However, we need improvement in layups and shooting, we need to fix up our energy, we need improvement in listening and following instructions and we need improvement in running faster.

Today’s game against St George Monoux was filled with intensity and passion especially from our coach .Yasmine played with immense courage and Valour remaining unstoppable throughout the game and as for the zealous Victoria Number five she performed with heart and ambition as she slithered her way past the other team Fatima with her fast thinking and great leadership help keep us all in check on the court. There is still a long way to go but evidently there has been some improvements. With the help of our fantastic coach in time we will get there all we need to do is keep our spirits up. Overall our defence was better compared to previous games and we pulled through and delivered in the forth quarter. Our discipline and focus needs to improve in order to see progress and hopefully in the next game we are victorious.
Our top scorers today were
Victoria – 7
Yasmin - 6
Melanie -4

It was hot in the City, Josephine the Executive Car arrived on the dot of 7. She took us cabs round the block a few times in dribbling and layups. 2 teams The Ubers babes with red upholstery Fedi, Andreea, Gill, Sally verses The Lady London Cabbies in Blue, Louise Nancy, Sarita, Dania. Louise and Andreea revved their motors to start, Andreea won the Jump, destination drop the fare off at the basket. The court was congested, the meter ran high before Uber Fedi got the first drop off. Gill drove in knowing the short cut! Sally beeped her horn scoring as she made it to the destination. Louise scored first for the lady Londoners, but it was too late Game 1. 7-1 to the Uber Reds. Game 2. We changed sides. The Reds picked up a fare immediately driving left right and centre. Louise’s electric battery ran low, luckily Nancy got a charge and a big tip! Dania was running up town when she got pranged on her front bumper. Hoot hoot! Andreea knew some new routes and with Fedi running over the speed limit, Red Won Game 2. 7-4. Game 3. The blue were now in the congestion Zone. Sarita took a one way street direct to the drop off. Nancy was there to greet her..beep beep! Nancy achieved her knowledge and was pronounced Driver of the week! Game 3 to the London Blues. 1st to 3 was game 4. At 8pm the shifts were over, we all went home exhausted. Happy Birthday Rhondy Roundabout may all your journeys be sweet. beep beep!

Today was especially significant for the girls of St Charles basketball team. We started off with a match against Leyton School which was challenging and test defying. Our top scorers being Fatima and Victoria showing incredible teamwork on the court. The intensity was at its very peak throughout the game and we are becoming more and more unified as a team and our friendship and bond is developing too! Straight after the match we were rewarded by our awesome coach to watch a live match played by the professional Lions’ team to help build our insight on basketball and to Learn and evolve as players ourselves. We are so grateful to have such a coach who commits her time and effort into improving each and every single one of us. Her hard work and work ethic is patent and indubitable, because of her interconnections and her well deserved respect in the business we were able to experience momentous moments like this and many more to come in the future. We've all come such a long way since the beginning and seen an immense amount of improvement but its not over, we are all thriving and working on bettering ourselves in the future, but overall it was an incredible day and a delightful way to end the term
